PIPA has published its latest resource, 'Lessons Learnt', highlighting incidents reported across the inflatable industry during the first half of 2026. The document identifies two recurring themes: the importance of effective supervision and ensuring inflatables are set up, maintained, and monitored correctly throughout use.

Recent incidents have included users falling from inflatables due to moved crash mats, inadequate supervision, equipment positioning issues, entrapment between adjoining units, equipment failures, under-inflation, and slips on wet surfaces. These incidents reinforce the need for trained supervisors, routine safety checks, adherence to operating manuals, annual inspections, and thorough risk assessments.

Controllers, operators, and hirers are encouraged to review their procedures, ensure staff understand their responsibilities, and regularly monitor equipment during use to help prevent accidents and maintain safe operation.
