The UK's Inflatable Safety Inspection Scheme

Inspector1

The Professional Inflatable Play Association is the UK's safety inspection scheme for inflatables. We help to ensure inflatables are safe to use by all.

As a not-for-profit type organisation, any money generated through the scheme is used only to run the scheme and to improve the safety of inflatables.

More information about how the scheme operates can be found below.

About Us

We operate the PIPA Inspection Scheme:

  • Inflatables require an initial inspection to ensure they have been designed safely, and an annual inspection to ensure they remain safe for use
  • PIPA inspections use a framework underpinned by British Safety standards
  • Inspection bodies registered with PIPA are validated to employ inspectors who have the necessary skill and training to undertake PIPA inspections

Working with key industry stakeholders:

Improving standards across the industry:

  • Providing clear information on the requirements of operating inflatable equipment safely
  • Increasing public awareness of the scheme and UK safety requirements
  • Creating training courses for the industry

How does the inspection scheme work?

Safety starts with having an inflatable device which is safe to use and assists to protect them during play.
